This is the first step of the core rhythm
Day 1 — Observe / Capture
“Notice without interference”
The information on this page is to help support you and help frame something important to you. Something that you want to deal with. It can be big or small. Use this in combination with what has been sent to you by email. If you're not getting the emails, go here.
Why this step exists
Most people think they’re bad at focus. They’re not. They’re just overloaded.
Observation is not passive. It’s the moment something moves from unconscious noise into conscious awareness. Until that happens, everything else is guesswork.
This step exists to interrupt autopilot.
What to consider
- What keeps resurfacing when you’re tired or distracted?
- What drains energy without demanding attention?
- What do you keep postponing without deciding?
These are often more important than loud problems.
What to avoid
- Trying to fix or explain the thing
- Judging yourself for noticing it
- Capturing more than one thing
One signal is enough.
What success feels like
A slight sense of relief.
A quiet “ah, that’s been there for a while”.
That’s awareness doing its job.
