The second step of the rhythm
Day 2 — Clarify / Name
“Identity reduces drag”
The information on this page is to help and support you to frame something important to you. Something that you want to deal with. It can be big or small. Use this in combination with what has been sent to you by email. If you're not getting the emails, go here.
Why this step exists
Unnamed things take up more mental space than named ones. They remain vague, emotionally charged, and difficult to act on.
Naming doesn’t solve the issue — it contains it.
This is where digital DNA begins: identity before action. (This is how A.I. works as well)
What to consider
- If you had to explain this to a friend, what would you call it?
- What word feels honest, even if it’s uncomfortable?
- Does the name point to a cause or just a symptom?
Clarity beats politeness.
What to avoid
- Over-complicating the label
- Turning it into a solution
- Softening the truth to feel better
This is a private step. Accuracy matters more than tone.
What success feels like
The problem feels smaller, even if it’s not solved.
That’s because it now has edges.
In general
Don’t be tempted to rush or overdo or overthink anything today. This simple process could be speeded up but it will be more helpful to you to experience ‘your first complete cycle’ over the next few days.
(By speeded up I mean this basic cycle could also be used to improve the way you work with AI tools, business processes and the results you get back.)
